We recently returned to a beautiful home in Church Lawton to carry out a garage floor tiling project for a returning customer. The existing floor was made from Anhydrite screed, which required proper preparation before tiling.
We began by grinding down the surface to remove the laitance layer—a necessary step to ensure strong adhesion. Once prepped, the floor was primed, and an uncoupling mat was installed to allow for potential movement, as the screed was only five years old.
The tiles, 600x600 porcelain sourced from Tile Mountain, were laid with care and finished with natural grey grout for a clean, modern look. The entire job took just a day and a half to complete and has transformed the space into a more functional, dust-free room.
